Zaliia
Zaliia grew up in a multicultural environment and has been drawing since early childhood. The constant moves not only shaped her childhood, but also her artistic perspective. During her childhood she lived in different regions. Each of these regions, with their incomparable landscape and natural beauty, left deep impressions on her artistic work. The endless steppes of Kazakhstan, the sunny gardens and vineyards of Moldova and the mighty Volga in Tatarstan shaped her deep understanding of nature and vastness.
She began her formal art education at art schools at the age of seven. Over the next five years, she studied art history, sculpture and painting intensively, developing her skills in various disciplines.
However, her education was interrupted by the political system change in the country, which forced her to pursue other career paths. In order to secure a stable income, she moved to Moscow, where she studied logistics and worked in this field.
However, art always remained a part of her life. In Moscow, she not only found her feet professionally, but also personally – she met her husband, with whom she eventually moved to Switzerland.
There, surrounded by the inspiring nature of the mountains and gardens, she found her way back to her artistic passion. The proximity to nature in Switzerland offered her new perspectives and created the basis for her current style.
In her realistic paintings, Zaliia captures the beauty and tranquility she experiences on hikes through the mountains or in botanical gardens. The use of oil colors is essential for her to transfer the atmosphere and peace she feels in nature to the canvas. Her works are characterized by clear compositions and detailed depictions that immerse the viewer in the scenes.
At the same time, she plays with the layering of shapes and colors in her work. Her acrylic paintings are often created from a mixture of memories and imagination, with each layer telling a new story and reflecting the depth of her experiences after travelling or hiking.
Zaliia is now an artist whose work captures both the harmony of nature and the complexity of memory. Her art is an invitation to pause and contemplate the beauty of the world around us.
